Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

This policy applies to the dinghy.io website and to all games and apps made by Dinghy Games, whether you play them on this website, on a third party games site, or as an app on your phone. All Dinghy Games products are provided at no cost and are intended for use 'as is'.

This page explains what information is collected, how it is used and who it is shared with. If you choose to visit this website, play any of our games or use any of our services, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The information collected is used for providing and improving our products. Your information will not be shared with any other party except as described in this document.

Dinghy Games is run by Tom from Team Dinghy, who is responsible for the information described on this page and can be contacted at tom@dinghy.io.

Information Collection and Use

Our games do not ask you to create an account or to give us your name, email address or any other personal details. Some features do send information to us or to third parties, and these are described in the sections below. Which of them apply depends on the game and where you play it.

Data Stored on Your Device

Our games save your progress, settings and, where there is a leaderboard, your player ID and display name on your device so that they are still there next time you play. In a browser this is kept in local storage; in an app it is kept in the app's own storage. This information stays on your device and is removed if you uninstall the app, clear your browser or app data, or use your browser's option to clear site data. We do not use it for tracking. The third party services listed below may also store their own identifiers on your device.

Leaderboards

Some of our games have online leaderboards. To make them work, the game sends the following to our leaderboard server:

Your display name and your score or time are shown publicly to other players on the leaderboard. Please do not use your real name or any personal information as your display name.

When a score is submitted, our leaderboard server also records your device's IP address and browser or device type (user agent) alongside the score. We use these to keep the leaderboards fair and to deal with abuse, and we do not use them to identify you.

Leaderboard entries are kept until you ask for them to be removed or the leaderboard is closed. To have your entry removed, email tom@dinghy.io with your display name and it will be deleted.

Google Play Games

Some of our Android apps use Google Play Games Services for leaderboards. If you sign in to Google Play Games, your scores are sent to Google and shown on Google's leaderboards alongside your Play Games profile name, under Google's privacy policy rather than ours. We do not receive your Google account details.

Multiplayer

Games with online multiplayer send your player name and the room or game you join to our multiplayer server so that the other players can see who is playing. Your name is visible to the other players in that room.

Analytics

We use analytics services to understand how our website and games are used so that we can improve them. In our apps this is Firebase Analytics (a Google service), which records events such as starting and finishing a game (and whether it was won, how long it lasted and your score), continuing a game, watching an ad for a reward, unlocking items and opening the leaderboard. Our apps may also use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash and error reports so that we can fix problems. Firebase also collects technical information such as your device model, operating system version, app version, country, and identifiers such as an app instance ID and your device's advertising ID. On our website and in our browser games we use Google Analytics, which uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location and your browser and device type.

Advertising

Some of our apps show ads, including rewarded video ads that you can choose to watch to earn rewards or to continue a game. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID and other information to show and measure ads. Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), you will be asked for your consent by Google's consent message before ads are requested, and you can change your choice later in the app's consent settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your device settings. You can read about how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Third Party Services

Our website and games use third party services that may collect information used to identify you. Links to the privacy policies of the third party service providers we use:

Where one of our games is played on a third party games site such as CrazyGames, that site's own privacy policy applies to its accounts, saving and advertising features, and your progress may be saved with your account there instead of on your device. Our leaderboards may not be available in those versions.

Log Data

Whenever you use our website, games or apps, we and the third party services above may collect data called Log Data, in order to help troubleshoot problems with the Service, including when an error or crash occurs in an app. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ('IP') address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the game when utilizing the Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files containing a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.

This website uses cookies for analytics and advertising. Some services use cookies to store session tokens. Whenever cookies are used on these services, they are required in order for the service to function unless specified otherwise. You can refuse cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the Service may not work without them.

Service Providers

Third-party companies and individuals may be employed for the following reasons:

We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to the information described on this page. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Your Choices and Rights

You can ask what information we hold about you (for example in a leaderboard), ask us to correct it (you can usually also change your display name in the game at any time), or ask us to delete it, by emailing tom@dinghy.io. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also withdraw your consent to ads at any time through the app's consent settings, and you have the rights set out in data protection law, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. For information held by Google or other third parties, please see their privacy policies linked above.

Security

We strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your information, but no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

This Service may contain links to other websites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that website. Note that these external websites are not operated by Dinghy Games. Dinghy Games have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. Dinghy Games do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case a child under 13 has provided personal information, this information is deleted from the service. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please send an email to the address listed below to have the data deleted.
